Unfortunately, Eagle does not support normal-looking fonts, and I can't stand the default vectorized font. So I create my text as a bitmap and import it into Eagle. Here is the process:
Open my “LocalTalk Adapter Text” file
Update anything in it (remember, don't anti-alias…we only want black as a color)
Export it as a BMP
Resize the BMP to 624×115 pixels
Run Eagle's import-bmp.ulp script
Choose black as the only color to import (No scan, click checkbox on black color in upper left)
Enter 2.3 mils per pixel
It'll import into layer 200.
Delete the explanatory text that imported at the bottom of layer 200.
Hide layer 200.
Select all on the tNames layer.
Delete all on the tNames layer.
Show layer 200 again.
Select all on layer 200.
Click on Change→Layer… and choose tNames.
Control-right-click to change layer of all selected objects to tNames.
All done! Save the library and update on the PCB!
